- 8/2/24 – Food & Beverage – Fresh guacamole products – Potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
- “The recall was the result of a routine sampling program by the company, which revealed that the finished products could potentially contain the bacteria. The company has ceased the production and distribution of the products as they continue their investigation. This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.” 1
- 8/2/24 – Food & Beverage – Sea Salt chocolate bar – Undeclared Allergen-Undeclared Almond, Wheat and nuts.
- “The recall was initiated after it was discovered that batches of Marabou Sea Salt contained almonds, wheat and nuts outside of its allergen profile. The packaging disclosed the product contained “traces of nuts and wheat.” On May 8, 2024, BonBon was informed of the recall by our distributor, Ert Godis, and the product was removed from the sales floor and subsequently destroyed at every retail location.” 2
- 7/31/24 – Medical Devices – FreeStyle Libre® 3 sensors – Sensors may provide incorrect high glucose readings.
- “Internal testing determined that some of the sensors from among three lots may provide incorrect high glucose readings, which if undetected may pose a potential health risk for people living with diabetes and can lead to incorrect treatment decisions, such as taking insulin when not required.” 3

- “The voluntary recall was recommended by the FDA following its targeted sampling of multiple different discount cinnamon brands from multiple different retail locations. Colonna Brothers is participating in this recall voluntarily as requested by the FDA. Colonna Brothers has not violated any Federal laws, regulations, and/or guidelines regarding levels of lead in cinnamon/spice, nor any protocols requiring testing for heavy metals in cinnamon/spice.” 4
- 7/30/24 – Food & Beverage – Vegan Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll Non Dairy Frozen Dessert – Undeclared Peanut Allergen.
- “The recall was initiated after it was discovered that 8 pints containing the peanut allergen were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of peanuts. 4 pints have been recovered to date, leaving 4 pints remaining out in distribution. Subsequent investigation identified the problem was caused by a mock case sample which accidentally entered the distribution channel.” 5

These items include meat intended for slicing at retail delis as well as some packaged meat and poultry products sold at retail locations.
