  • 9/20/24 – Food & Beverage – Codfish Frying Mix – Potential or Undeclared Allergen – Fish.
    • “The recall was initiated after the issue was brought to our attention (The Firm) that the product label failed to declare the common name Fish (POLLOCK) in the ingredient and in the contains statement during an FDA Inspection on September 5th, 2024. As part of the firm’s ongoing investigation, the product has been recollected to recondition and correct the labels.” 1
  • 9/20/24 – Food & Beverage – Kara Boondhi, Kerala Mixture, and Spicy Murukku snack products – Potential or Undeclared Allergen – Wheat.
    • “On 8/29/24 the firm was notified by the by their supplier that the label does not state that the Asafetida used in the product contains wheat.” 2
  • 9/20/24 – Food & Beverage – Lactaid 96 oz milk carton varieties – Potential or Undeclared Allergen – Tree Nuts (almond).
    • “This issue was discovered as a result of routine maintenance programs which revealed the potential for trace amounts of almond.” 3

    • “Date 09/18/2024 – Rosemead, CA, 123herbals is voluntarily recalling all lots of Vail-Bon Jie Yang Wan capsules to the consumer level. The product has been found to be tainted with the drug ingredients, dexamethasone and chlorpheniramine. Vail Bon Jie Yang Wan capsules is an unapproved new drug for which the safety and efficacy have not been established and, therefore, subject to recall.” 4

    • “The recall was initiated after information was confirmed that the Milk-containing product sub-ingredient (Sodium Caseinate-Milk derivative) was distributed in packaging without Milk on the label. Investigation indicates the problem was caused by a manufacturer’s sub-ingredient error.” 5
  • 9/19/24 – Cosmetics – Baby Powder – Potential Metal or Chemical Contaminant.
    • “The recall was the result of a routine sampling program by the FDA which revealed that the finished products contained asbestos. The company has ceased the distribution of the product as an investigation is proceeding to determine what caused the contamination of the talc.” 6
