  • 10/27/23 – Animal & Veterinary, Food & Beverages – Breeders Choice Raw Pet Food 2 lb – Salmonella contamination.
    • “On October 27, 2023, the firm was notified by the Food & Drug Administration that the dog food test positive for Salmonella. Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products.”1
  • 10/25/23 – Drugs – Sodium Bicarbonate Injection, USP, Midazolam in 0.8% Sodium Chloride Injection ELCYS (cysteine hydrochloride Injection), USP – Potential presence of particulate matter.
    • “Particulate matter identified as silicone was observed during routine inspection of retain samples.” 2
  • 10/23/23 – Food & Beverages – Enoki Mushrooms – Listeria monocytogenes.
    • “The potential contamination was noted by a routine sampling conducted by the State of West Virginia on products which were further distributed by Utopia’s customers bearing expiration date 10/26/2023. The products tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.”3

    • “Food safety and public health are our priorities, so the company initiated the recall after the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) notified it that the recalled products were part of the agency’s traceback investigation into an ongoing Salmonella Thompson outbreak. Out of an abundance of caution, the company’s recall and the table below include all products produced on the same day and on the same production lines as the implicated onions.” 5

    • “The problem was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities. Honduras is not eligible to export pork products to the US” 6
