  • 11/23/24 – Animal & Veterinary – Carolina Made Chicken Chips Dog Treats – Potentially contaminated with Salmonella.
    • “The potential for contamination was noted after testing performed by a third-party laboratory identified contamination in a related yet commercially unreleased lot of the same product.” 1
  • 11/22/24 – Food & Beverage – Fresh Gourmet Tortilla Strips Santa Fe Style – Undeclared Wheat.
    • “On November 19, 2024, the firm was contacted by a consumer stating the pouches contained Crispy Onions instead of the Tortilla Strips. The Crispy Onion Strips contains wheat which is not listed on the label for the Tortilla Strips. No illnesses have been reported to date.” 2
  • 11/22/24 – Food & Beverage – Organic whole carrots – Potential Foodborne Illness – Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli) O121:H19.
    • “As a part of our ongoing review of internal processes associated with the voluntary recall, we determined that four bag sizes needed to be added to our initial recall announcement,” said Jeff Huckaby, President & CEO of Grimmway Farms. “We then began the process to notify the FDA and update the consumer. The health of our consumers and the integrity of our products are our highest priorities, and we will not rest until this issue is fully resolved.” 3
  • 11/22/24 – Animal & Veterinary – Chicken Chips Dog Treats – Potential Salmonella Contamination.
    • “The product comes in a 5-ounce bag marked on the back side with lot number 20061124 and an expiration date of 12/11/25.  This is the only lot number identified as potentially contaminated, no illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem and Gaines has made every effort possible to recover the potentially contaminated products.” 4
  • 11/21/24 – Drugs – UMARY Hyaluronic Acid tablets – he product contains undeclared diclofenac and omeprazole.
    • “MXBBB is voluntarily recalling 1 lot of UMARY ACID HYALURONIC, 30 CAPLETS 850 MG to the consumer level. The products have been found to have omeprazole and diclofenac. FDA did a laboratory analysis that confirmed that Umary contains diclofenac and omeprazole.” 5
  • 11/21/24 – Food & Beverage – Organic Carrots & Celery – Potential Foodborne Illness – Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli) O121:H19.
    • “F&S Fresh Foods, Sacramento, CA is recalling Whole Foods Market 15 oz. Organic Carrot Sticks and Whole Foods Market 15 oz. Organic Carrots & Celery that should no longer be in stores but may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. The recall was initiated after F&S Fresh Foods was notified by Grimmway Farms that whole organic carrots supplied to F&S Fresh Foods may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli ( coli) O121:H19.   • 11/20/24 – Food & Beverage – “Kickin” Carrot Falafel Bites – Potential Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli) O121:H19 contamination.
    • “This recall is being conducted in response to a nationwide recall initiated by Grimmway Farms of organic whole carrots, which has been identified as a potential risk by one of our suppliers. Grimmway Farms Recalls Organic Whole and Select Organic Baby Carrots That May Be in Consumers’ Homes Due to Potential E. coli Contamination | FDA” 7
  • 11/19/24 – Food & Beverage – Orange Custard Chocolate Chip ice cream – Undeclared Egg.
    • “During production, a limited number of Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream containers were inadvertently filled with Orange Custard Chocolate Chip ice cream, leading to products with incorrect allergen labeling.” 8
  • 11/19/24 – Drugs – Clonazepam Orally Disintegrating Tablets, USP (C-IV) – Mislabeled with the incorrect strength on the carton.
    • “Endo, Inc. (OTCQX: NDOI) (“Endo”) announced today that one of its operating subsidiaries, Endo USA, Inc., is expanding its previously announced voluntary recall of Clonazepam Orally Disintegrating Tablets, USP (C-IV) due to potential product carton strength mislabeling.” 9
  • 11/18/24 – Food & Beverage – Cinnamon Powder – Potential Metal Contaminant – Lead.
    • “This recall is being initiated as a result of routine sampling by the Arkansas Department of Health which revealed that the finished products contained elevated levels of lead. The company has ceased the distribution of the product as they continue their investigation as to what caused the problem.” 10

  • 11/22/24 – Food – Ineligible Beef Tallow Products – No Certification.
    • “The problem was discovered when FSIS was performing surveillance activities at a retailer and found beef tallow products from an unverified supplier in Mexico and, therefore, ineligible for import into the United States.” 11
  • 11/21/24 – Food – Ready-to-Eat Meat and Poultry Products – Possible Listeria Contamination.
    • “The problem was discovered after FSIS performed routine testing and follow-up activities of finished product produced by Yu Shang Food, Inc. on October 21, 2024, that confirmed the product was positive for Listeria monocytogenes. Additional testing has confirmed that Listeria monocytogenes was detected in product and in environmental samples collected by FSIS. Whole genome sequencing is underway to determine if these samples match the outbreak strain.” 12
  • 11/20/24 – Food – Ground Beef – Possible E.coli O157:H7 Contamination.
    • “FSIS was notified of illnesses on November 13, 2024, and working in conjunction with Minnesota Departments of Agriculture and Health, FSIS determined that there was a link between the ground beef products from Wolverine Packing Co. and this illness cluster. On November 20, 2024, a ground beef sample collected by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture as part of an outbreak investigation tested positive for  coli O157. To date, 15 case-patients have been identified in one state with illness onset dates ranging from November 2, 2024, to November 10, 2024. FSIS continues to work with the Minnesota Departments of Agriculture and Health on this investigation.” 13
